Misery's boredom Empty
PostSubject: Misery's boredom   Misery's boredom Icon_minitimeSat Aug 06, 2011 3:47 am

Misery stood watching out over the ocean. It held her in a trance. The water washed over her paws. It was sticky, but the smell seemed to entrance her. She took a few steps forward so that the water rushed up over her back. The sand faded from under her paws. She wondered where the water ended. Her ice blue eyes stared at the horizon. Misery dipped her head under the water. It wasn't cold, it felt warm. It made her fur stick to her slender figure, and sand find its way in her fur. She would have to bath again at the lake. She truly didn't care. She wanted to find a nice place to stay. The thoughts of where she truly belonged strayed into her mind. Was there really a place that wanted her. Where did she belong, and what role did she play here. She was far from close to Krestel, and yet even being in this pack made her want to tear off her fur and hide away forever. A small figure came up beside her. She looked down expecting herself to find Blue. No it was a small black wolf. It looked up at her, her eyes asking if it was okay to be here. She nodded. Kuro smiled softly. Misery licked her forehead. "What's your name?" She asked. Her eyes seemed to speak for her. "Kuro...?" The black wolf nodded. "I see our a mute?" The smaller wolf nodded again. Misery enjoyed Kuro's silent company as they watched the sun fall. The small wolf wiped away her questioning thoughts.

"No way!" Silan was scouring the land for something to eat. It'd been a while since she had a filling meal, not that fish weren't sufficient, it's just that they weren't too big and she couldn't really fish. She could barely remember how to hunt, but she figured she might as well try to.

When she saw the little she-wolf, her heart sped up five times faster. She scurried across the sand and skidded to a halt beside the two wolves, trying to forget all that Misery had done to frighten her. "What are you doing here, Little One?" She lowered her neck so she was at eye level with the small wolf. What was she doing here? What happened to her den in the woods, by the lake? She was much safer there than here.

Misery looked at the tall dog. "She's been with me, watching the horizon." She replied. The small black wolf looked at the dog and gave a small wag. Kuro liked sitting with Misery. She seemed so sad, but was nice to her. She could walk, and she didn't want to be in her den right now. Misery watched the dog dog carefully.

The healer blinked. Watching the horizon? What was so special about that? "Are you hungry?" Maybe she came here for food, though Silan had no clue how the pup managed to track her all the way here. It was quite a distance for a wolf cub.

Kuro shook her head. She wasn't hungry. She had wanted somebody who understood her. Misery stood watching the water curl up around her and the pup. She helped the wolf keep her balance, and once again licked her forehead. A motherly gaze in her eyes.

The dog was definitely confused. Why would the pup want to stay with Misery? Did she know what the wolfdog was capable of? Did Silan know what the pup was capable of?

She sat down, beside the two. Not so close, but she stayed beside them none the less. Maybe she didn't understand them, but it didn't mean she had to. And maybe later she'd try again. Maybe. A big maybe. "Will you talk to us now, Little One?" She decided to ask the pup again, perhaps she'd gotten over her fear of others. She must have if she was laying with a wolf she barely knew.

Kuro lifted her head to the dog and cocked it to the side. Misery looked at silan. "She can't speak, she's a mute. Cursed to walk the earth without a single word." Misery spoke for the pup. Kuro nodded saying that it was true. She was unable to speak. She wished she could thank the dog, but she was unable. Misery turned to looked at the sunset. The red dyeing her white fur a bloodly color. The black of the pup became a light copper.

Silan felt a lock click, and her mind finally got everything she'd gone through to help the cub. Now at least she knew why she was so insistent to keep her maw shut. She couldn't talk! And that was one thing she couldn't fix, unfortunately. “A wise old owl sat on an oak," the dog began to speak for no real reason, just remembering an old rhyme she'd heard when she was younger. "The more he saw, the less he spoke. The less he spoke, the more he heard. Why aren't we like that wise old bird?”

The bright sun momentarily blinded her, the light on her face a fiery red. Scarlet and violet mingled together, swirling and stretching as far as the eye could see along the horizon. A slight breeze worked it's way from the ocean, salt stinging the dog's nose. The tide would move in soon, but she couldn't find the motivation to be concerned.

Kuro listened, but made no sound. If she even wanted to she couldn't. She sat beside Misery, the cold ocean sweeping around her. She nuzzled her nose into Misery's side. At this Misery took her eyes and looked back at Kuro. The look of an aged wolf was in the young pups eyes. She was young and sweet, yet seemed so distant.
